Doctor gave me CYTOTEC,and yet my results shows that im still pregnant.what is CYTOTEC? ok...im 10 days pregnant...im not married yet...so when i seek the doctor, the doc gave me medicines name ac CYTOTEC so my period would come out....it did....but only light period ( brown colour ) and it only comes for 2 days.now...the questions is....what is CYTOTEC? y when i eat this medicine the results still shows im pregnant?

The last use is controversial in the United States. Misoprostol was invented and marketed by G.D. Searle & Company (now Pfizer) under the trade name Cytotec Chemically, misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) analogue. Misoprostol is one of the drugs used for medical abortions in lieu of surgical evacuation. The advantages of medical abortion over surgical abortion include reduced invasiveness of the procedure, lack of risks from general anesthesia (which is often used for surgical abortions), and lack of risk of secondary infertility due to scarring and intrauterine adhesions (Asherman's Syndrome). what will happen to my baby after ive taken cytotec in the 1st two mths of my pregnancy? I was over 1mth pregnant when i found out n decided to abort it.The 1st pill i took was calld pregnan,supposedly strong enuf to hav an abortive effect.yet,nothing happened.Desprate,i looked for other pill n found cytotec.it was given to me with some other capsules(don't know the name).i took it n had minor bleeding,brownish colour.i had cramps which only lasted the night.i waited for 1 week,still with minor bleeding but felt nothing and no traces of fetus or blood clots coming out.after almost 2 weeks,i took cytotec again 4 d 2nd time,d effect was immediate,i had to rush to the toilet and a lot of fluid came out from the anus,but no blood.an hour or so there was bleeding,again it was minor.but that was it.while taking it,i took panadol with CocaCola to induce bleeding,but also didnt feel d effect,infact i felt it cured my headaches.now im 3mths pregnant,n recently went 4 ultrasound,it shwed my baby,wit heartbeat n limbs,but im wondering if ive spoilt d baby nw dat i want to keep it.

How is that going to feel, assuming that it lives and you deliver it, when you have to tell your child that you tried to kill it before it was born. Abortion is a HUGE deal, and something you have to live with for the rest of your life. I really hope that your baby is okay, and that you decide to give it to a family who will love it and care for it and who never would have thought of killing an innocent child before it was even given a chance to live in this world. Talk to your Dr and make sure you let them know what you took to try to end your pregnancy. If you don't want the child give it up for adoption don't kill an innocent human life"

has anyone ever miscarried and was prescribed cytotec to complete the miscarriage? i did and i took the medicine now I'm in bad pain with lots of blood. what was you experience. and do you know what are some other drugs that can not be taken with generic name misprostol

kefowler7 replied: "I was prescribed cytotec to complete my miscarriage. I had labor like pain and lots of bright red blood and then large clots of tissue. It is normal. You should contact your doctor if you soak more than one super plus pad an hour for more than three hours. I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard this is for you. Keep your chin up...it gets easier eventually."

ladyinconn replied: "I also took it. On 8/14 at 10 PM before going to sleep as prescribed by the doctor. I was really scared because of many of the things I had read, but I had moderate pain level cramps (about a 4-5 out of 10) and by this morning @ 5 AM I spotted - then at 8 AM, I passed a couple of blood clots and what I believe was the sac (sorry if tmi). Everyone is different though, and I have read about many others who had what you are describing - if you are worried you should contact your doctor. PS - Sorry you are going through this - it is very emotionally draining!"
